Monty’s timetable was quite light this week (lots of staff holidays as its half term) so after a morning OT session Monty was free until 3pm. We went for a walk and did some reading in Russell Square before meeting Al and Ness for a lovely wander around Bloomsbury and then lunch out. Monty’s reading is definitely improving, in therapy sessions we are working on 5 and 6 word sentences using ORLA technique – and Monty has improved on his accuracy. Outside of therapy Monty and I are working our way through some children’s books, which after initial hesitancy he now doesn’t mind (on book 12 now).

After lunch Monty had a physio session with Connor and Piya, who were assessing Monty’s arm to see if its time for more Botox (can be done every 3 months) – they don’t think its required in the hand of wrist again, but the biceps continue to be really strong, so we will probably look to get another round injected into biceps before Monty leaves Queens Square.

After this I left Monty to go to his room, and once there he was whisked away for a MRA. The Dr had come earlier and said to try and get a final decision on what might have caused Monty’s stroke they would repeat the MRA to see the current state of the carotid arteries to understand the risk of another stroke.
