The day started with an early physio session with Holly, which included a first feel of a quad stick (not ready for walking with it yet, but that will come).

Next we had an appointment at Lister for an ultra sound of the heart, full results will come via the consultant.

As we were out and about in the car I asked Monty what he fancied next and we went and picked up the kids and went out to Hermitage Road for lunch. After an emotional start (tears of joy at being out as a family) Monty very much enjoyed his lamb chops. His communication is improving – when he wanted to ask Luca about how he had got home last night after a troublesome train journey he said “station” – so not a full sentence, but a good way of letting us know what he wanted to talk about.

We did discover that after 5 weeks of being mainly inside in very hot rooms Monty has become a fair weather man and was not at all impressed with the light rain and cold in Hitchin today !

In the afternoon Fred and Beth came to visit and Monty is determined not to let his lack of being able to form whole sentences get in the way of him taking part in the conversation.

Leaving him shortly for a well deserved early night.
